N-HEPTANOIC ACID

Oleris® n-Heptanoic Acid is a 100% biobased, 100% linear chain saturated odd-numbered fatty acid with a Natural Origin Index =1 (ISO16128) and very high purity of ≥ 99%. It is readily biodegradable, achieving 94.4% degradation within four days (OECD Test Guideline 301 A). It has a negative carbon footprint (ISO 14067) and is derived from castor oil, a renewable vegetable oil. Applications include high purity esters for fragrances and flavors and natural and vegetable-based cosmetic ingredients with improved polarity for excellent dispersion of pigments and better spreadability for smooth skin sensation and faster skin-penetration.
