BYK-1160

BYK 1160 is a wetting additive that reduces viscosity at low shear forces. BYK 1160 can be added during manufacturing or prior to processing. As a viscosity reducer for plastisols, BYK 1160 allows for improved dispersion of fillers and pigments. This leads to more uniform material properties. BYK 1160 is particularly suitable for unfilled and low-filled formulations. Its effectiveness depends on the resin used but recommended addition levels are 0.5-2% based on resin weight. BYK 1160 helps optimize rheological behavior during shaping of plastisol-based advanced materials.
